Colorectal Health

Why it matters?

Colorectal cancer is the 2nd leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States for both men and women combined.

What can we do?

Prevention

A low-fat diet high in vegetable and fruit intake, as well as regular exercise can help lower risk of developing colorectal cancer.

Early Detection

Regular screening with a colonoscopy starting at the age of 45 and younger for those with risk factors, helps prevent colorectal cancer through removal of precancerous polyps and helps with early detection.

An estimated 40,000 lives a year could be saved through widespread adoption of colorectal screening
