Breast Cancer Detection

Why it matters?

1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. When detected in the localized stage there is a 99% survival rate, however only 63% are discovered in these early stages and an estimated 43,600 women will die from breast cancer this year.

How can we improve early detection?

Understanding individual risk of developing cancer, improving access to and compliance with screening, and increasing awareness of breast cancer symptoms and signs. For more information, resources, and education check out the National Breast Cancer Foundation
